I have set up the first law firm in Denmark which is 100 per cent dedicated to the national and international rules and regulations of football. My mission is to provide specialised personal advice and act as a professional sparring partner on the many legal and commercial issues involved in football to the many stakeholders in the world of football.
My expertise in this field and my in-depth insight into the legal and commercial framework of football has been built over seven years as lawyer and legal adviser at the Danish Football Association (DBU). At DBU, I was in charge of drafting a large part of the regulatory framework which applies today in the area of contract football for male and female players in Denmark. I was responsible for DBU's international work with the comprehensive UEFA and FIFA rules and regulations and was extensively involved in the development of the DBU standard player contracts and, as FIFA TMS Manager, in basically all professional club transfers in and out of Denmark.
As former legal secretary to the DBU Appeals Committee, the Club Licensing Appeals Committee and the Arbitration Tribunal for Football, and through a number of international disciplinary processes with DBU as one of the parties involved, I have accumulated comprehensive knowledge of all types of disputes in the world of football.
Throughout all seven years, I also worked with a number of Danish and foreign football agents and I know the business and its many facets and legal challenges from this side of the pitch.
Football is a global sport, and my network of clubs, associations and football agents is large and international. I know the culture and how the rules work in practice.
I am a part-time lecturer teaching International Sports Law at the University of Copenhagen where I also graduated law. My master's thesis was on the subject of "Football players' employment" (printed in Justitia, no. 4, 2011). I am an active football player myself and a former elite player for Akademisk Boldklub, Fremad Amager and FC Copenhagen.
