In 2019, I established Denmark’s first law firm dedicated entirely to sportslaw and, specifically, to the national and international regulations and contracts of football. My mission is to provide highly specialized, personal consultancy and professional assistance to all stakeholders in the world of football regarding the many legal and commercial aspects of the game.

My expertise and in-depth knowledge of football’s legal and commercial landscape, along with my practical experience in finding solutions, were built over more than 7 years as legal counsel and attorney at the Danish Football Association (DBU) and subsequently since 2019 as Denmark’s first independent football lawyer.

At DBU, I was in charge of drafting nearly all the current Danish regulations regarding contract football for both male and female players. Simultaneously, I was responsible for DBU’s international work involving UEFA’s and FIFA’s extensive regulatory frameworks. I was involved down to the very last comma in the development of DBU’s standard player contracts. And as DBU’s FIFA TMS Manager, I was involved in practically all professional club transfers in and out of Denmark.

Today, a vital part of my business consists of specialized advice and practical assistance for players, coaches, and clubs regarding:

  • national and international club transfers

  • the conclusion of player and coaching contracts

  • transfer agreements in Denmark and abroad.

During my time at DBU, I served as the legal secretary for the Appeals Committee, the Club Licensing Appeals Committee, and the  Arbitration Tribunal for Football. At DBU and subsequently as an independent attorney, I have handled numerous international cases involving either DBU, Danish clubs or their players and coaches.

Consequently, I have acquired extensive knowledge and practical experience in handling all types of disputes within the world of football. I have represented or advised parties in cases before virtually all international sports dispute resolution bodies, including:

  • UEFA and FIFA bodies

  • the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)

  • national bodies such as the Football Disciplinary Chamber, the Football Appeals Committee, the Football Court of Arbitration, and the DIF (National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark) Supreme Appeals Tribunal.

Throughout the years, I have also advised and assisted a range of Danish and foreign football agents regarding transfers, representation matters, contracts, and disputes. I understand the industry's many facets and legal challenges from "this side of the pitch" as well. I was previously responsible for conducting DBU’s agent exams, and I regularly teach aspiring agents in preparation for the annual FIFA Agent Exam. A number of practicing agents have successfully passed the FIFA exam following my personal tuition and guidance.

Football is a global sport, and my network among players, coaches, clubs, associations, and football agents is large and diverse, both in Denmark and internationally. I understand the culture and the industry; I know the stakeholders and how the rules work in practice.

Alongside my work as a football attorney, I teach International Sports Law as an external lecturer at the University of Copenhagen. It was here I earned my Master of Laws, concluding my studies with the thesis "The Employment Relationship of Football Players," published in the legal journal Justitia     (no. 4, 2011).

I remain an active football player and have previously played elite football for Akademisk Boldklub, Fremad Amager, and FC Copenhagen.
